Hartford Puts Life Exec In Charge Of $70 Billion In Assets

NU Online News Service, Nov. 9, 10:18 a.m. – The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, has named David Znamierowski president of its Hartford Investment Management subsidiary and chief investment officer for The Hartford.

Znamierowski will take charge of investments for both the life and property-casualty operations.

The operations manage $51 billion in general-account assets and $19 billion in assets for outside customers, such as employee benefit plans.

Znamierowski previously served as chief investment officer for the life operations and president of the Hartford-sponsored mutual funds. He joined the life operations in 1996 after working for Salomon Brothers Inc., New York, where he was involved with equity derivatives sales and trading, and Aetna Life and Casualty Company, Hartford.

Znamierowski holds a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a master’s degree in business from Dartmouth College. He is a member of the board of the Investment Company Institute, Washington, and a member of the policy-making investment committee at the American Council of Life Insurers, Washington.
