NU Online News Service, Nov. 5, 11:48 a.m. – Jefferson-Pilot Corp., Greensboro, N.C., says it is putting Dennis Glass in charge of day-to-day operations to give David Stonecipher, the chairman, more time to focus on the “strategic direction” of the company.

Glass, previously the chief financial officer, will now take the titles of president and chief operating officer. He was CFO at Protective Life Corp., Birmingham, Ala., before he joined Jefferson-Pilot in 1993.

Theresa Stone, president of the broadcasting division, will continue to run the broadcasting division and also serve as the CFO.

Jefferson-Pilot hired Stone in 1997. Previously, she was president of Chubb Life Insurance Company of America. She was also an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.
