NU On-Line News Service, Oct. 11, 4:05 p.m. – The New York Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters says it will hold a group health insurance symposium at the Yale Club in New York on Oct. 17. The symposium features a panel of senior executives from a number of health insurance companies in New York Metro area and will be moderated by James Gerber, senior healthcare analyst with Bernstein Investment Research and Management, New York, formerly Sanford C. Bernstein Inc.

Gerber will lead the panelists through the discussion of three areas of interest to brokers and consultants: 1) The role of the broker/agent in the distribution of employer sponsored medical benefits; 2) The use of the Internet to distribute or assist in the distribution of medical benefit plans; 3) The carriers’ product, pricing and service strategies relative to the government’s intrusion into the marketplace.
