NU Online News Service, Aug. 20, 4:16 p.m. – WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif., has hired CHCS Services Inc., Weston, Fla., to administer its long-term care insurance products in California, Illinois and Indiana for the next four years.
CHCS will handle policy administration, case management and claim payments for all new policyholders and current policyholders.
WellPoint is best known as as managed care company, but it also sells long-term care insurance under the WellPoint and Unicare brand names.
CHCS is a subsidiary of Universal American Financial Corp., Rye Brook, N.Y. It serves as a third-party administrator for insured long-term care insurance and Medicare supplement insurance programs.
