NU Online News Service, Aug. 16, 12:46 p.m. – Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, N.J., is putting its retirement services unit and guaranteed products unit under the command of the same executive, Scott Sleyster.

Sleyster has been president of the guaranteed products unit since 1999. He became the first interim head of the retirement services unit in March.

Sleyster will now serve as the permanent head of both units, Prudential says.

The retirement services unit handles defined contribution retirement plans, traditional defined benefit pension plans, and stable value investments.

The guaranteed products unit manages guaranteed investment contracts, group annuities, funding agreements and structured settlement products for employer-sponsored pension plans and other institutional clients.

Sleyster is a member of the board of the Employee Benefit Research Institute, Washington. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in business from Northwestern University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation.
