HIAA Names J. Grover Thomas Chairman

NU Online News Service, Aug. 10, 12:15 p.m. – The Health Insurance Association of America, Washington, has named J. Grover Thomas Jr. chairman.

Thomas is president of Trustmark Insurance Company, Lake Forest, Ill.

Thomas succeeds William McCallum, president of Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Company, Englewood, Colo.

Thomas is a member of the Illinois Life Insurance Council board; a member of the consumer issues steering committee at the American Council of Life Insurance; and a trustee of the Georgia State University Foundation.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Briar Cliff College and a master’s degree in business from Georgia State.

HIAA also named Benjamin Cutler vice chairman.

Cutler is president of Fortis Health, Milwaukee, a subsidiary of the Fortis group. He has a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
