John Hancock Funds To Sell Through ExpertPlan 401(k) System

NU Online News Service, Aug. 9, 10:26 a.m. – John Hancock Funds, Boston, has agreed to market its mutual funds through a Web-based retirement plan administration system owned by ExpertPlan Inc., Cranbury, N.J.

The system wholesales retirement plans to financial institutions, such as third-party administrators, broker/dealers, fund companies, banks and insurance companies.

The financial institutions then sell the retirement plans to employers.

Hancock says it will start by selling 32 open-end mutual funds through the ExpertPlan system.

John Hancock Funds is a subsidiary of John Hancock Financial Services Inc., Boston.
