NU Online News Service, July 19, 12:05 p.m. – Sierra Health Services Inc., Las Vegas, says a subsidiary, Texas Health Choice L.C., has won a contract to provide health maintenance organization services to active and retired Texas employees who work or live in Dallas County and Tarrant County.

Eight thousand Texas employees and retirees will be eligible to enroll in the HMO program.

The contract term will extend from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2002.

The plan design will include comprehensive HMO benefit coverage with no deductibles, and a $10 co-payment for office visits. The plan will also include a prescription benefits program that will encourage participants to buy generic drugs and buy drugs through a mail-order service.

Sierra now has 70,000 HMO members in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
