Sun Life Financial Expands Critical Illness Line

NU Online News Service, July 5, 12:10 p.m. – Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, Toronto, a member of the Sun Life Financial group, says it will be offering advisors more critical illness products.

The company’s advisors will now have access to critical illness products from Great-West Life, Greenwood Village, Colo., and UnumProvident Corp., of Portland, Maine, and Chattanooga, Tenn.

Critical illness insurance, which pays a lump sum benefit in the event of a serious illness, is among the fastest-growing products in the Canadian insurance marketplace, with premiums in 2000 up 63% from 1999, according to company figures.
