WellPoint Subsidiary Opens Community Center In Oklahoma City

NU Online News Service, June 27, 12:45 p.m. – UNICARE Health Plan of Oklahoma, a unit of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif., is opening a community resource center in Oklahoma City, Okla., for the 21,000 members of its SoonerCare Plus Medicaid program.

The center is similar to Medicaid community centers that WellPoint operates in California, UNICARE says.

UNICARE has set up a community board to advise the center, and hired staff members who will specialize in reaching out to Oklahoma’s many different ethnic and linguistic groups, the company says.
