NU Online News Service, June 6, 11:15 a.m. – Zurich Life, Long Grove, Ill., a subsidiary of the Zurich Financial Services Group, Zurich, is setting up a group benefits program to offer group life insurance, group long-term disability insurance and group accidental death and dismemberments for employees of U.S. companies who work outside the United States.

Organizers of the program say they can draw on Zurich Financial?fs knowledge of markets outside the United States, and the knowledge of the U.S. market that Zurich acquired when it acquired Kemper Life Insurance Companies in 1996.

Some employers that want to offer good benefits packages to expatriate employees end up spending large sums to self-insure because arranging for coverage for the expats is so difficult, Zurich says.
