New Hires logoThis week in new hires, Beirne Wealth Consulting welcomed Dana McLaughlin; CLA Wealth Advisors added George Hostal; Hartford Funds brought in Shaun McDonald and Dylan White; and U.S. Bank Wealth Management welcomed new Private Client Reserve hires Scott Fitzgerald in New York and Ruth Granen in Seattle.

Also, DDJ Capital Management brought in John O’Connor; Michael Collins went to TradeStation Prime Services; and Scott Thorson and Sharon Scibek joined H. Beck.

Beirne Wealth Consulting Adds Senior Wealth Advisor Dana McLaughlin

Milford, Connecticut-based Beirne Wealth Consulting (BWC) announced recently that it had added senior wealth advisor Dana McLaughlin, who serves as a core advisor to the firm’s high-net-worth individuals and families and is responsible for advising individual clients on financial planning, investments, retirement and education planning, trust asset management and efficient wealth transfer. She is also a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to joining, she worked as a financial advisor at A.G. Edwards, which was acquired by Wells Fargo Advisors in 2007.

George Hostal Joins Phoenix Office of CLA Wealth Advisors

CliftonLarsonAllen Wealth Advisors (CLA Wealth Advisors), a wholly owned subsidiary of CliftonLarsonAllen, has announced that George Hostal has joined the Phoenix office as a senior wealth advisor.

Hostal has nearly 20 years in the financial services industry and specializes in providing custom investment solutions. He began his career with Bank One Trust Company, where he helped lead the consolidation of the private banking, trust, and investment management businesses designed to serve the asset management and estate and planning needs of HNW individuals. He also served as managing director with J.P. Morgan inLouisianaand as a senior vice president and portfolio manager at First Western Trust in Arizona.

Hartford Funds Welcomes New Hires in South Florida and Missouri

Hartford Funds announced that it has appointed two new advisor consultants. Shaun McDonald will serve in Kansas and Missouri, managing relationships with wirehouse clients and prospects, while Dylan White will serve in the same capacity in south Florida for the non-wirehouse channel. In these roles, they will be responsible for driving regional sales efforts and serving as a resource for financial advisors on products and strategies. McDonald, based in St. Louis, reports to Kirt Jones, divisional sales manager for the central region, and White, based in Naples, Fla., reports to Brian Garrette, divisional sales manager for the south region.

With nearly 20 years of industry experience, McDonald joins from Neuberger Berman, where he held the position of senior vice president, responsible for managing wirehouse clients in seven territories. Previously, McDonald was a vice president and sales director for the mid-central region at Legg Mason. McDonald has also held sales positions at AllianceBernstein, JP Morgan Asset Management, Banc of America Capital Management, ING Funds, MFS Investment Management, among others.

Prior to joining, White was regional vice president at Strategic Capital Distribution, where he was responsible for growing the sales of alternative investment strategies to advisors. He was previously a vice president and regional sales manager at Allstate Financial and before that, a financial service representative for MetLife Securities. His career also included regional leadership sales roles at ING Annuities and Transamerica Capital. White began his career as a financial advisor. Scott Fitzgerald, Ruth Granen Appointed by Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank

U.S. Bank Wealth Management announced recently that Scott Fitzgerald was appointed wealth management advisor for the Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank in New York, and Ruth Granen has been appointed vice president and personal trust relationship manager for the Private Client Reserve in Seattle. In their new positions, Fitzgerald will provide clients with integrated and tailored wealth management services, and Granen will deliver personal trust and estate administration services to individuals, families and corporations implementing strategies to help clients meet unique needs.

Fitzgerald has more than 11 years of financial experience. Prior to joining, he was a senior relationship manager with HSBC, a relationship manager with City National Bank and a personal banker managing affluent client relationships with JPMorgan Chase.

Granen brings more than 30 years of financial service industry experience to her new position. Before joining, she was a financial manager for Ohana Fiduciary Corp., where she specialized in administration of HNW client relationships and special needs trusts. She also served as senior trust officer at Bank of America inSeattleand was president of Your Home Inc., a relocation company.

DDJ Capital Management Appoints John O’Connor

DDJ Capital Management has announced the appointment of John “Jack” O’Connor to the newly created position of senior vice president, heading business development and client service. In this role, he will lead a business development and client service team, including a performance and analytics group, of 12 associates.

O’Connor was most recently head of North American distribution for Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Prior to that, he was the executive vice president and head of U.S. institutional distribution for Pioneer Investments. Earlier, for eight years he was a senior sales and marketing executive for MFS Investment Management, culminating in the position of SVP of North American sales and consultant relations.

TradeStation Prime Services Hires Michael Collins

TradeStation, a Monex Group company, announced that Michael Collins has joined TradeStation Prime Services as head of prime brokerage sales, where he will play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s prime services business and relationships within the hedge fund community. As head of prime brokerage sales, he will be based in New York and report to Rob Sackett, head of Trade Station Prime Services. Collins will be responsible for continuing to build the firm’s prime services offering, with a focus on emerging managers and small to midsize established hedge funds, and will lead the U.S. sales team in identifying new client opportunities and servicing existing relationships on the platform.

Collins comes from Citigroup, where he was most recently a director of prime finance sales within Citi Global Markets. He spent 10 years at Citi within prime finance and previously worked on the institutional equity sales desk at Morgan Stanley.

H. Beck Adds Scott Thorson and Sharon Scibek

Maryland-based H.Beck recently announced that Scott Thorson and Sharon Scibek have joined its senior management team. Thorson was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of Capital Financial Group, a service affiliate of H. Beck and Sharon Scibek was named vice president of human resources.

Thorson is a 27-year financial services veteran with 20 years at Ameriprise and seven years as chief operating officer at Securian Financial Services, Inc.

Scibek has more than 20 years of experience in HR leadership and professional development. Most recently, she led the HR function at Econometrica, a research and management consulting firm in Bethesda.
