In response to “Using Social Security to open doors”
The Business Insurance Zone broadcasted a series on Social Security as a major entry point into the senior market. The show featured Ken Davis, CLU, ChFC, CFP, CPA, who is an expert on Social Security benefits and its taxation. Contrary to popular belief, the correct application of Social Security strategies in an advisor’s practice requires a steep learning curve and significant operational skill sets for the calculations necessary to perform the computations.

In response to “10 sales resolutions for 2013”
I am going to recommend this post in my Google +1 circle that is called “sales process.” What I liked the most in your post was the following:

“It’s hard for salespeople to plan past the next quarter when they are measured on monthly, weekly or even daily results. Fight this syndrome by defining a forward-looking sales model that can guide daily decision-making.”

I am also passionate about sales and sales pipeline management.

In response to “People with Alzheimer’s test brain pacemakers”
A non-invasive alternative to deep brain stimulation, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) uses an imperceptibly small current from a portable stimulator powered by a 9-volt battery and sponge electrodes. Providing effects similar to deep brain stimulation, tDCS is safer, easy to do, much less expensive, without side effects and is available for home-use. Over 750 published scientific articles demonstrate the benefit of tDCS for Alzheimer’s disease, chronic pain, treatment-resistant depression and stroke rehabilitation.

In response to “Fitch may downgrade U.S. over debt”
Even a junior loan officer at a bank understands that a client who has an ever increasing need for more debt, to cover out-of-control spending, is going to be downgraded. More debt is not the solution. More debt adds to the problem. We MUST cut spending. We MUST remove the economic straight jacket of socialism. Let’s take a look at history; socialism does not work! However, for those who want to be spoon-fed and babysat by Uncle Sam, why would they complain about a straightjacket?

In response to “3 ways clients can benefit from old annuities”
How very refreshing to hear an ethical perspective on how to use those old annuities! Thank you so much for representing our industry with integrity!
