You either must adventurous or just plain crazy to run with a herd of bulls. You also need to sign a liability waiver if you want to participate in a “Running with the Bulls” event (modeled after the famous one held every year in Pamplona, Spain) being convened Oct. 14 in a town outside Phoenix.

Organizer Phil Immordino had been forced to scrap the bull run when insurance charges got too high. This year, he was able to lower the insurance expense and it’s off to the races. Participants pay $25 to run alongside dozens of rodeo bullsafter they sign a seven-page liability waiver that one legal expert says is pretty ironclad. Betsy Grey, an expert on tort law at the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at Arizona State University, said that runners would face a tough time winning a case if they are injured by a bull. “We’re covered,” Immordino stated.
