AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company has released a short video about Theodore Krause, a 100-year-old life insurance agent who is still working with clients just about every business day.

Krause, a holder of the Chartered Life Underwriter professional designation, is believed to be the oldest active financial professional at AXA Equitable, New York.

Krause started working for AXA Equitable, which is now a unit of AXA S.A., Paris, back in 1947, when the company was the Equitable Life Assurance Society of America.

Krause, who was born in Philadelphia, now counsels clients at an office in Vineland, N.J. Most weeks, he swims five days a week. His wife, Sarah, is 101.

AXA Equitable President Andrew McMahon says Krause is now advising the grandchildren of some of his first clients.

“Ted and his wife are living proof that it is important to prepare for the long term,” McMahon says.

AXA Equitable notes that the United States is now home to more than 70,000 centenarians, and that the median lifespan of a U.S. baby born today may be about 100.
