Mutual of Omaha is out to make purchasing long term care insurance coverage easier for consumers. The company introduced Mutual Care, a new addition to its LTCI portfolio. Mutual of Omaha took the most popular facets of basic LTCI coverage and put them into Mutual Care:

  • Choice of three- or five-year benefit period
  • Coverage of $100 per day for eligible LTC services for home health care, assisted living or nursing home care
  • 20-year compound inflation protection

Customers can choose from a limited number of options:

  • A different daily amount, up to $300
  • Lifetime compound inflation protection or no inflation protection
  • Shared benefit feature for spouses

Discounts and preferred rates are available, too. Based on the following criteria, consumers can pay less for a policy:

  • Good health
  • Members of qualifying associations
  • Workplace purchases
  • If a spouse or other adult living in the household purchases a policy
  • People who are married
  • People who own Mutual of Omaha Medicare supplement policies
