Jeff Montgomery, CEO of National Financial Partners Securities, announced his resignation from the company and from his position as COO of National Financial's business unit, NFP Insurance Services. Both resignations were to take effect at the end of February. The firm's president and COO, Daniel Young, will replace Montgomery at NFP Securities, while James Gardner will do the same at NFP Insurance Services.

Morningstar, Inc. announced that Timothy Armour, managing director, is retiring on February 29. Before joining Morningstar, he was president of Stein Roe Mutual Funds. The company also announced that Christine Benz was named director of personal finance. Karen Dolan replaces Benz as director of fund analysis.

After more than 12 years as president and CEO of NAVA, Mark Mackey has resigned; NAVA said a national search is currently underway for Mackey's replacement, with hopes to have new leadership in place by NAVA's 2008 annual meeting in October. Mackey plans to stay on until the 2008 meeting. NAVA has renamed itself the Association for Insured Retirement Solutions.

Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc announced that Ahmass Fakahany, co-president and COO of Merrill Lynch, has decided to retire.

Symetra Financial named Tim Duff as regional VP for the company's advisor channel.

Matt Sines was named regional director of business development for the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Mid-Atlantic regions of Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.
