Prudential Financial Inc. has released a new version of its PruLife UL Plus universal life product.

One change is an increase for short-term, no-lapse guarantee period to 10 years for all ages, according to Prudential, Newark, N.J.

Another change is an increase in the limited no-lapse guarantee period. The guarantee period will be 25 years for purchasers under age 50; to age 75 for purchasers ages 50 to 64; and 10 years for purchasers ages 65 and older, Prudential says.

Pricing for the new policies will be better for clients who are controlling a tendency to have high cholesterol levels with medication, Prudential says.

Pruco Life Insurance Company, Newark, writes the policies in all states but New York and is responsible for backing the product guarantees in those states.
