The Internal Revenue Service has published temporary guidance of interest to financial advisors who help clients set up charitable giving arrangements.

The IRS has issued the guidance, in Notice 2006-109, to implement provisions of the new federal Pension Protection Act that are supposed to restrict abuse of donor-advised funds and other charitable giving vehicles.
