I should have known. The response by readers was gratifying indeed and on the next few pages you will have a chance to read those three essaysthe winner and two runners-upthat we judged to be the best entries.
As promised, a $1,000 donation will be made on behalf of the first place winner to the Life & Health Insurance Foundation for Education, the prime mover behind the Life Insurance Awareness Month promotion.
The amazing thing to me was that although we had to pick only three, there was something in each essay submitted that touched the heart. Each writer conveyed a depth of sincerity and fervor about life insurance that was inspirational.
