Back in June when I announced that National Underwriter was sponsoring a contest to support Life Insurance Awareness Month, I really didnt know what to expect.
I should have known. The response by readers was gratifying indeed and on the next few pages you will have a chance to read those three essaysthe winner and two runners-upthat we judged to be the best entries.
As promised, a $1,000 donation will be made on behalf of the first place winner to the Life & Health Insurance Foundation for Education, the prime mover behind the Life Insurance Awareness Month promotion.
The amazing thing to me was that although we had to pick only three, there was something in each essay submitted that touched the heart. Each writer conveyed a depth of sincerity and fervor about life insurance that was inspirational.
So, enjoy these essays from your fellow producers and reflect on the good that you do. And if you are so moved, let us know how they made you feel.
