Lewis & Associates is a Visalia, California-based firm that sells employee benefits and other insurance products to long-term care communities. The firm serves assisted living facilities, independent living communities and skilled nursing facilities, according to Gallagher.

Gallagher, which is based in Itasca, Illinois, says James Smallwood, Kevin Veitia and other Lewis & Associates veterans will stay at their current location.

Gallagher says it liked the firm because of its outstanding reputation and its niche capabilities.

The companies are not saying how much Gallagher paid for Lewis & Associates.
