In 2013, health savings account contribution limits and high-deductible health plan out-of-pocket maximums are going up, according to the IRS. This is the first time in three years that the HDHP minimum required deductibles have increased. HSA limits for individuals will be $3,250 (up $150 from 2012); limits for family coverage will increase $200 to $6,450. HDHP minimum required deductibles for self-only coverage will be $1,250, $2,500 for families. The maximum for out-of-pocket expenses—deductibles, co-payments, and other amounts, but not premiums—will be $6,250 for self-only, $12,500 for family coverage.
