An insurer has developed a package of tools that can help financial advisors communicate with consumers by analyzing their retirement savings efforts.

The Wellesley, Mass., U.S. division of Sun Life Financial Inc., Toronto, says the new Creating Generational Wealth IRA review program is aimed at the retirement and wealth transfer markets.

The program includes pre-approach letters, client brochures, an IRA review checklist, sales ideas, training material and a system for creating customized IRA planning presentations, Sun Life says.

Topics discussed include analysis of wealth transfer and estate planning strategies, use of life insurance to protect financial assets and options for handling lump-distributions and beneficiary designation, Sun Life says.
