Many employees are under the mistaken impression that their 401(k) plan will be enough to support them through retirement. But misinformation and lack of education abound, leaving many severely unprepared for retirement. First developed as an adjunct to traditional defined benefit pensions, 401(k)s now are the main source of post-work income for U.S. workers, and many are either under-saving or losing years of retirement income to fees.
