The limited-benefit insurance arm of a large health insurer has picked a plan administrator to help it expand the list of services it offers.
Strategic Resource Company, a unit of Aetna Inc., Hartford, says it will be using the Boon Group Inc., Austin, Texas, to ramp up program sales efforts.
The arrangement will increase SRC’s ability to sell limited-benefit health plans to government contractors, SRC says.
The agreement also will help SRC provide direct billing services and to sell coverage to employees of employers with “hour banking” systems, SRC says.
Hour banking systems give employers a mechanism for tying health plan contributions to the number of hours an employee has worked in a given month.
