Tim Welsh of Charles Schwab Institutional said in an interview that the company is finding much success with an advisory business-building program it rolled out earlier this year called Business Consulting Services, which currently provides discounted access for advisors to 30 different experts both inside and outside Schwab. Launched in January 2005, the suite comprises a vetted group of consultants and services ranging from a job bank that contains 400 resumes of people looking for work at advisory firms to experts in employee compensation and motivation, compliance, and even executive recruiters. Welsh said that if advisors request a service, “we’ll look internally, and if we don’t have it, we’ll get outside people” to provide those services. Schwab-affiliated advisors who want more information on the business consulting program can speak to their relationship manager or e-mail Welsh at [email protected].
