BISYS Retirement Services, the large independent retirement plan recordkeeper, has launched a monthly Web-based education series dubbed ERISAEDGE. The series is designed to keep plan sponsors and retirement sales professionals up to date on important changes in regulations, legislation and other industry hot topics such as the new Roth 401(k) plans, auto enrollment, and cross testing–allowing different investment plan allocations for different classes of employees without discriminating against any one. The series fills an important educational niche, as there has been “rapid change” over the past decade in ERISA and related retirement legislation and regulations, says Todd Berghuis, VP of ERISA consulting services for BISYS Retirement Services. The Web conferences, which debuted in early July, are interactive and provide a forum where ERISA professionals from BISYS’s ERISA Support & Consulting group, and industry professionals can interact with each other. The BISYS group will be offering continuing education credits for sales professionals who use the Web series at a future date, and the service is currently available for free to clients using BISYS for their recordkeeping services and to their financial advisors, either through live attendance or with access to the archives for the recorded sessions.
