Senior Market Sales Has Medicare Advantage Sales Slots at Walgreens
Health Care Service Corp. and Zing also have Medicare Advantage plan news.
Senior Market Sales — an Omaha, Nebraska-based insurance distributor — is working with Seek Medicare to help agents sell Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Part D prescription plans at Walgreens drug stores.
The program will help agents get into about 350 Walgreens stores in Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia during the Medicare Advantage and Medicare prescription drug plan annual enrollment period.
Eligible agents who want to participate will have to commit to spending at least 12 hours per week in the assigned store.
The signup deadline is Aug. 20.

Health Care Service Corp.
Health Care Service Corp. — the parent of the Blue Cross and Shield plans in Illinois, Texas and other states — says it will compete for Medicare Advantage enrollees’ business in more counties in 2022.
The Chicago-based, enrollee-owned mutual insurer says it expects to sell Medicare Advantage plan coverage in about 90 additional counties, with about 1.1 million more Medicare-eligible residents, in 2020.
The annual enrollment period for Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans for 2022 is set to run from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
Health Care Service Corp. did not say in the footprint expansion announcement how many Medicare Advantage enrollees serves this year.
The company provides health coverage for about 17 million people.
Mark Farrah Associates does not list the company as one of the top 10 Medicare Advantage plan providers. The suggests that the company has fewer than 272,000 Medicare Advantage enrollees.
A ThinkAdvisor analysis of a Medicare Advantage enrollment spreadsheet indicates that Health Care Service Corp. may now have about 112,600 Medicare Advantage plan enrollees.
Zing Health
Zing — a new. Chicago-based Medicare Advantage plan issuer — has arranged to distribute its plans through ConnectureDRX, a Medicare plan shopping system company.
