IRS Reminder: Check Your Paycheck Withholding Now

The IRS last week released a reminder for employees to check their paychecks to evaluate whether their withholding remains on track. Federal income taxes are withheld from employees' paychecks based on earnings and the information given by the employee to the employer on their Form W-4. The IRS reminds taxpayers that it is important to check the information on those Forms W-4 periodically, particularly after major life events or changes in income. It's also important to review withholding information in light of major tax law changes, such as the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The IRS also provides a tax withholding estimator that taxpayers can use to determine whether their withholding is accurate. Taxpayers use information from their pay stubs, recent income, deductions and credits to estimate their tax withholding. Taxpayers are entitled to submit revised Forms W-4 to their employers.
