The DOL has officially amended the Code of Federal Regulations to restore the 2019 salary thresholds that govern the "white collar" exemptions for Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime rules. In 2024, the Biden-era administration raised the standard salary threshold for the white-collar overtime exemption to $844 per week as of July 1, 2024 and again to $1,128 per week as of January 1, 2025 (to be automatically increased every three years going forward). Later in 2024, two district courts vacated the rule and, thus, these changes. Subsequently, the DOL returned to enforcing the 2019 salary levels, which are $684 per week (equivalent to $35,568 annually) for executive, administrative, and professional employees (i.e., white collar professionals who are exempt from overtime requirements).
