As part of your arsenal of business management tools it’s a good idea to keep a list of which individuals you should call first when something happens in the market that might cause some alarm.

We would suggest you break your client lists into the 4Ns: New Clients; Nervous Clients; Nice Clients; and Narcissitic Clients.

New: clients with whom you have not yet experienced a market downturn

Nervous: clients who you know to be very susceptible to irrational behavior and who may need some extra hand-holding

Narcissistic: your most demanding clients

Nice: clients who are well-trained and educated
