"Do you know this guy? If not, do you know someone who could put me in front of them?" Years ago, a friend who was a former executive at a listed company explained he had provided 50 referrals for his financial advisor over the years. He used these same two questions to start each request. You can get in front of high-net-worth individuals if you know the right people. They are often gatekeepers of sorts because they tend to know everybody in the organization where they work. They might not be wealthy individuals, but they are part of that world, at least tangentially. It's unlikely you will have connections in all areas, and you might think of some that fit this strategy that aren't mentioned. You might have more than one in certain categories.
