It is easy to think the skills to become a success in the business today are different from those used by fellow advisors who succeeded before you. Today we have robo-advisors, commission-free online trading, cryptocurrencies and smartphone apps portraying investing as a game. 

Have the required skills really changed? The principles in the gallery above were true in the 1980s, ’90s, 2000s and the decades that followed. Technology might have changed, but the principles of success are pretty constant.
