SEC still taking comments on indexed annuities proposal

Members of the public have until Nov. 17 to weigh in on a proposal to regulate indexed annuities as securities. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission originally released the proposal in June with a Sep. 10 comment deadline.

The deadline was pushed back when many insurance groups and other groups who disagree with the proposal said the comment period was too short.
