EPFR Global, which tracks the flow of money into and out of mutual funds, reported May 29 that Latin America and Global Emerging Markets Equity Funds posted their best weeks in over a year, with $789 million flowing into the Latin American funds, helped by favorable economic and fiscal news from Brazil. Nearly all emerging markets funds showed net inflows, EPFR Global reported, but the Japan Equity Funds group posted net outflows for the eighth straight week, and investors withdrew $354 million out of China and Greater China equity funds. The big winner in year-to-date fund flows continues to be real estate sector funds, which EPFR Global said has attracted $7.1 billion in inflows this year.
