New Goldman Platform Advises Asset Managers on Launching ETFs

Goldman expects the first client ETF developed through the platform to launch in 2023.

Goldman Sachs has established a new digital platform to advise asset-manager clients in starting their own exchange-traded funds.

The Goldman Sachs ETF Accelerator, led by partner Lisa Mantil, “enables our clients to quickly and efficiently launch, list and manage their ETFs,” the firm said via email.

The platform will provide services across fund launch processes and integrations into the ETF ecosystem, along with portfolio implementation and capital markets solutions, Goldman said.

The Goldman Sachs ETF Accelerator “will help clients get their ETF ideas to market faster and more efficiently,” the firm said.

A Goldman spokesperson confirmed a Wall Street Journal story on Tuesday reporting that the firm started advising asset managers through the platform in recent months and expects the project to produce its first ETF launch next year.

ETF white label firms have been very busy recently, so it makes sense more competition would enter the space, Nate Geraci, ETF Store president, tweeted Tuesday.

Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst for Bloomberg, tweeted that the move is “another bullish sign for ETFs overall IMO.”
