Many advisors are involved in their local community; it's a good way to give back. It's also a good way to raise your visibility. Unfortunately, some advisors join community groups and maintain a low profile. Do the people around you know what you do? It's important to not only build your local visibility, but also to maintain it. When writing my book, "Captivating the Wealthy Investor," I interviewed HNW individuals. When asked if they knew any financial advisors in their local community, they answered yes. How did they know these people were advisors? The answers were interesting.
