Erik Gomez — a longtime Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company agent based in Newport Beach, California — is changing the focus of his practice. Gomez has adopted the marketing name EG Wealth Management and Insurance Services.

Jornaya, Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, has hired Rich Smith to be chief marketing officer. Jornaya tracks what happens when consumers set about making major life purchases. Smith previously was a partner and chief marketing officer at Chief Outsiders, a firm that helps companies share chief marketing officers. Smith has a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and a master's degree in business from the University of Delaware. He started out working for MBNA America, which eventually became part of Bank of America. He later served as a chief marketing officer at companies such as AIG Bank, Ditech Financial and Recovery Centers of America.
Zing Health, Chicago, has hired Ananth Ramkrishnan to be chief technology officer. Zing Health is a new health insurer that will be focusing on running Medicare Advantage plans in the Midwest. Ramkrishnan previously spent six years as the chief technology officer at Landmark Health, a home health care company in Huntington Beach, California. He earlier spent two years as a vice president for risk adjustment information technology at UnitedHealth. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, and a master's degree in software engineering from Aptech.
