Chris Nicolopoulos to Lead New Hampshire Insurance Department
Nicolopoulos served for five years as the president of a New Hampshire agent group.
Chris Nicolopoulos is now the insurance commissioner in New Hampshire.
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, R, nominated him, and the New Hampshire Executive Council has approved the nomination by a unanimous vote, state officials said last week.

Nicolopoulos succeeds Alex Feldvebel, who has been serving as New Hampshire’s acting commissioner since November.
Feldvebel took over for John Elias, New Hampshire’s previous confirmed commissioner.
Feldvebel continues to be a deputy commissioner at the department.
Nicolopoulos has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of New Hampshire and a law degree from New England Law School.
He previously served for five years as the president of the New Hampshire Association of Insurance Agents (NHAIA) for five years. The association offers life and health agent licensing preparation classes as well as property and casualty agent exam prep classes. The group’s legislative tracking team has been following some life and health issues along with P&C issues.
Before Nicolopoulos moved to NHAIA, he was an associate at Preti, Flaherty, Beliveau & Pachios PLLP. He also has been government affairs director at the New Hampshire Association of Realtors.
