The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is teaming up with Plug and Play, an innovation support organization, to connect its 31,000 members with insurance technology startups.

Resources

One component of the partnership will be a mentorship program that will connect actuaries with startups, the SOA  says.

Another component will be SOA member access to a webcast and podcast series featuring startups.

The SOA will also work with Plug and Play to host an in-person event focusing on technology and aging.

The SOA is a Schaumburg, Illinois-based group for people who have gone through tests to show that they know the math needed to understand insurance, pensions, and other business arrangements that involve concerns about risk and uncertainty

Plug and Play is a Sunnyvale, California-based organization that has relationships with about 10,000 startups.
