50 States of 2020 Medicare Advantage Pricing Power Data
Here's a different way to look at Medicare Advantage enrollees' premium payments.
Here’s a table that compares Medicare Advantage plan enrollees’ average annualized premiums payments with what workers in large group health plans are paying, on average, for their share of their group health premiums.
We calculated a “Medicare Advantage pricing power ratio” — what the average Medicare Advantage plan premiums are as a percentage of the average large-group plan premiums.
The employee cost figures come from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, which is conducted by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality at the U.S. Department of Human and Health Services. The “large group” cost figures here are the cost figures for employers with 1,000 or more employees, and for employees who have self-only coverage.
Alaska is missing because Alaska has no individual Medicare Advantage plans.
