Ron Lockton to Become Lockton Inc. CEO: Insurance People

Ron Lockton has taken over as president and chief executive officer at Lockton Inc.

Ron Lockton succeeds Glenn Spencer, who recently resigned from the president and CEO posts at Lockton Inc. Spencer resigned for personal reasons, the company says.

David Lockton continues to be the chairman of Lockton Inc. David is the brother of Jack Lockton, who founded the Kansas City, Missouri-based company, and Ron Lockton is Jack Lockton’s son.

Ron Lockton has been Lockton Inc.’s vice chairman for two years.

Ron Lockton has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.

He started his insurance career as an underwriter at a property-casualty insurance unit of Aetna Inc.

He moved to Lockton Inc’s Kansas City property-casualty division in 1990. He served as the president of that division from 2006 until he became vice chairman.

Hub Names Human Resources Head

Amber Kennelly has taken over as chief human resources officer at Hub International Ltd., a Chicago-based insurance broker.

Kennelly previously was vice president of compensation and benefits at Allstate Corp., which is based in Northbrook, Illinois.

She has also worked in the audit practice at Deloitte.

Kennelly has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in business from Duke University. She holds the Certified Public Accountant and Certified Compensation Professional professional designations.

Graham Moves to AXIO

Phil Graham has become a managing director in the insurance services division at New York-based AXIO Group L.L.C., a securities and insurance product distributor.

Graham previously was a partner and chief sales officer at Financial Independence Group Inc., a Cornelius, North Carolina-based life insurance and annuity product distributor.

Graham has a bachelor’s degree in business and applied communications from Appalachian State University.

He is a board member at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.

Nathan Sheets to Help Shape Prudential’s Bond Market Strategy

Prudential Financial Inc. has hired Nathan Sheets to be the chief economist and head of global macroeconomic research at its PGIM Fixed Income unit.

Sheets will help advise the team that determines how PGIM invests the $654 billion in assets now under its management. Robert Tipp continues to be the chief investment strategist and head of global bonds for PGIM Fixed Income.

Sheets has been the undersecretary of the U.S. Treasury for international affairs. He also has been director of the Division of International Finance at the Federal Reserve Board, and he has been global head of international economics at Citigroup Inc.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brigham Young University and a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Scott Ramey to Run Transamerica Workplace Unit

Scott Ramey is now a senior vice president and head of the Workplace Solutions division at Transamerica.

Ramey previously was head of Transamerica’s institutional distribution channel.

Transamerica’s Workplace Solutions unit sells runs worksite marketing programs and sells voluntary benefits and retirement plans.

In the past, Ramey has been head of business development at Transamerica’s Transamerica Capital Inc., and he also has worked at the company as a divisional sales manager.

Ramey has a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University.

Standard Insurance Company Hires One, Promotes One

Standard Insurance Company of Portland, Oregon, has hired AJ Ijaz to be vice president of retirement plan services.

Ijaz previously was vice president of life and retirement agency operations at Allstate. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance and insurance from Radford University and a master’s degree in business from Case Western Reserve University.

The company has also promoted Melissa Harrison-Hiatt to second vice president of employee benefits shared services, from head of the contact center and absence management teams. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Portland State University and a master’s degree in business from the University of Denver. She holds the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation.
