Eight million people have enrolled in an exchange plan to date, though the data varies widely from state to state. On one end of the spectrum, Vermont has seen a whopping 86.27 percent of uninsured enroll; in West Virginia, just 6.94 percent of uninsured have selected a plan. What else do we know about the average exchange enrollee? A report from the Transamerica Center for Health Studies reveals that the majority of plan selectors are female (54 percent), white (63 percent) and over the age of 35 (66 percent).
