Health carriers in Nevada are rejecting the idea that their state’s public exchange administration is working any better.

Mike Murphy, president of the Nevada Association of Health Plans, says the four insurers participating in the state-based Nevada Health Link exchange continue to experience terrible enrollment system problems.

In some cases, he writes in a comment letter posted on the exchange board website, a carrier will get enrollment information but no premium payment.

In other cases, he writes, a carrier will get a premium payment but no enrollment data.

In still other cases, a carrier may get the enrollment information from another carrier.

“The exchange shopping experience is still not reliable,” Murphy adds. “The system randomly crashes during enrollment…. The only option a consumer has at that point is to completely start over.”
