The launch of the health insurance marketplace is a pivotal turning point in the history of health care in our nation.
Now, every American and every business will have the opportunity to be insured and to provide insurance for their employees.
In the Affordable Care Act, the government also looked to offer more choice and provided funding to develop CO-OPs — consumer operated and oriented health insurance companies — for individuals and businesses.
At Land of Lincoln Health — the first and only CO-OP in Illinois — we very much want to work with agents and brokers to get the word out about what we can offer.
Land of Lincoln Health is a nonprofit health insurance company with a primary focus on improving services for our members.
Our company was developed with a $160 million loan from the federal government. Any extra revenue we collect will be put back into the system to provide better benefits and more affordable premiums.
