The board of Nevada's public health insurance exchange has posted a chart that shows exactly when exchange builders would like to complete key tasks.

The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange schedule "roadmap," which was created using performance data from Sept. 2, includes sections on matters such as insurance carrier readiness, operations readiness and technical infrastructure.

The road map shows that the Silver State exchange would, for example, already like to be finished with getting insurers' "qualified health plans" into the exchange system and to have completed the ability of the exchange and the plan issuers to communicate through an electronic data interchange system.

Other projects, including a number of "business operations solutions" projects, may take longer, even if they go exactly as planned.

The exchange does not expect to send out its first standard bills until mid-January, and it expects to be fine-tuning automated "behind the scenes" workflows in November.
