UPS, one of the largest employers in the country announced that they would be dropping their health insurance coverage of 15,000 spouses of white collar employees who are eligible for insurance through their own employers. Spouses do not work or are not offered coverage at their workplace will remain on the UPS plan. In a statement, UPS said limiting plan eligibility was one way to deal with rising health care costs.
