A new strain of the bird flu virus has caused another death in Eastern China. Medical officials warn that the disease is not apparent in infected birds so no one can tell if the animals they are coming into contact with are affected. However, once contact occurs, the virus can spread to humans. The recognition of the new strain coincides with the tenth anniversary of the SARS virus which officials in China hid and downplayed.  With the lack of open information regarding SARS fresh in their minds, the media in China is calling authorities to task for not being forthcoming with facts.
