After a drawn-out confirmation process to become Secretary of Defense, complete with filibustering and a prosecutorial questioning from his fellow Republicans, Chuck Hagel has won Senate approval 58-41 with only four Republicans casting votes for him. Hagel, however, now has many opportunities to make life just as difficult for his harassers as they did to him during his tenure. The Secretary of Defense can close and relocate bases, many of which are in states where some of his most vocal critics govern. It seems, though, Hagel will move on rather than becoming Secretary of Revenge.
