The real cost of medical tourism

Health insurers and insurance advisors know very well that a gastric bypass can cost three times as much in a U.S. hospital as in a comparable hospital in Mexico, but many ordinary consumers do not know much about the concept of medical tourism. A Bloomberg reporter is trying to get visitors clicking with slides comparing the U.S. and non-U.S. costs of procedures such as bariatric surgery, facelifts and in vitro fertilization.
